Our Free GST Calculator is designed to help business owners, freelancers, and consumers quickly calculate the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on any purchase or sale. Whether you need to figure out the tax portion of an inclusive price or add tax to an exclusive base price, this tool provides instant, accurate breakdowns.
Formula to Add GST
Use this when you have a base price and need to add tax to find the final selling price.
- GST Amount = (Original Cost × GST %) / 100
- Net Price = Original Cost + GST Amount
Formula to Remove GST
Use this when you have the final MRP and want to extract the base price and tax amount.
- GST Amount = Total Cost - [Total Cost × {100 / (100 + GST %)}]
- Net Price = Total Cost - GST Amount

What are CGST, SGST, and IGST?
When you calculate GST, the amount is split depending on where the sale occurs:
- CGST (Central GST): Collected by the Central Government on an intra-state sale (within the same state).
- SGST (State GST): Collected by the State Government on an intra-state sale. It is exactly half of the total GST rate (e.g., if GST is 18%, SGST is 9% and CGST is 9%).
- IGST (Integrated GST): Collected by the Central Government for inter-state sales (between two different states). The full GST rate applies here as a single tax.
